New Rider

If you have never ridden a motorcycle before, we would always recommend a New Rider Course first so that you can learn at your own pace and not at somebody else’s.

This 1 or 2 hour course is delivered at a ratio of one-to-one. It’s extremely popular with both customers and trainers, as it gives you the chance to learn something new, without the added pressure of being in front of a group of strangers.

72.000 sq ft of beautiful tarmac provides riders with the confidence that they are not going to run out of space when the wobbles start. Things like this are important if you are at all nervous or anxious about riding a motorcycle for the first time.

It’s not a compulsory course but we find that inexperienced customers progress more easily through their CBT, after having done one. To qualify for this course, you must have basic cycling competency ie:

  • Be able to demonstrate good balance
  • Be able to ride one handed whilst making a signal
  • Be able to look behind whilst riding

Included in the course price is, motorcycle or scooter hire, motorcycle jacket and waterproofs. We don't provide helmets or gloves to reduce the spread of infection. You should bring your own or purchase discounted bundles on the day of your training. The progress of the lesson is driven by you, within the hour, we aim to teach you how to pull away and stop smoothly, before moving onto changing gears and cornering. Slow control techniques such as ‘figure of 8’ and ‘U turns’ are also often practised if time permits.

Two hour sessions are also available.
