The DVSA, along with the motorcycle industry, has put together a package of training known as the Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS). It’s basically a check of your motorcycle riding skills and some training to help you improve. THERE IS NO TEST!
You can get discounts on motorcycle insurance once you’ve successfully completed the day.
The Scheme is suitable if you’re a fully licenced rider:
Our courses have been personally designed and run in small groups of 4 - 6 riders. It all begins with a couple of hours around a table, chatting about the things that riders typically find difficult to get right and anything in particular that you would want covered. We have videos to provoke talking points, some of riders doing things well, some not! Tea, coffee and bacon rolls are complimentary during this session.
Next, we look to get five hours out onto the roads around Brecon. We split the group up into pairs and head off to practice what was discussed during the morning. Important subjects that are covered are :
At the end of the day, you will receive a rider’s report, with a full breakdown (into categories) of your riding, with confirmation of what you’re doing well and a plan for areas that need improvement. Topped off with a certificate from the DVSA of your completion of the day.
